Chas Chandler (1938-1996) was an English musician, producer, and manager, best known as the bassist for the rock band The Animals. He played a crucial role in the British Invasion of the 1960s, contributing to the band’s iconic hits such as "House of the Rising Sun," "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," and "We Gotta Get Out of This Place." Chandler's deep, resonant bass lines and distinctive vocal harmonies helped define The Animals' sound, which blended rock with rhythm and blues elements. After leaving The Animals in 1966, Chandler became a successful music producer and manager. He discovered and managed Jimi Hendrix, helping to launch his career after bringing him to London and forming the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
